Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead

Following a huge US-Israeli bombardment that President Donald Trump said was intended to overthrow the regime and would continue throughout the week, Iran has reported that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has died.

Regarding the strikes: One strike killed more than 100 girls at an elementary school close to a military base, and other strikes struck targets around the Islamic Republic.

Unprecedented retaliation: Following Khamenei’s death. The surviving leader has vowed to “stab” America in the heart. Iran has already targeted Israel, US military installations, and other local targets. The fighting has hampered oil shipments, damaged aviation terminals, and shook heavily inhabited areas.

Condemnation and celebration: The contrast between grief and celebration draws attention to Iran’s profound divisions. People protested and celebrated the strikes on Iran in the streets across the United States.

Iranian state TV also stated that two of its military services’ chiefs of staff were killed in Saturday’s Israeli and American attacks on Iran.

The semi-official Tasnim news agency announced that Lt. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi, who has been in charge of the armed forces since his predecessor was slain during the 12-day struggle last June, perished in Saturday’s attacks.

According to Tasnim, Aziz Nasirzadeh, the nation’s defense minister, was also slain.

Maj. Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the elite Iran Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC), and Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of defense counsel, were the other two important individuals whose deaths Iran had already announced.
