Iran demands that countries “expel Israel and US envoys” before having access to the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has set strict requirements for countries looking to freely use the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has declared that access to the Strait of Hormuz will be granted to any Arab or European country that expels US and Israeli diplomats.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared that these countries will have unimpeded access to the Strait of Hormuz beginning on Tuesday, as long as they expel US and Israeli ambassadors from their countries.

The IRGC stated that such nations would have the “full right and freedom” to traverse the crucial waterway if they severed diplomatic ties with both Israel and the US, according to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB.

As oil and shipping markets watch for any signs that maritime activity may restart in the small corridor, several vessels are still anchored on either side of the key channel. The strait normally carries about one-fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas.
