‘X Money’ will go into early public access starting in April 2026, according to a recent announcement from Elon Musk.

Elon Musk, the inventor of Grok AI, announced on Tuesday, March 9, 2026, that X Money, the digital payment system for the social media platform, will be made available to the public early next month as the billionaire works to make X a “everything app.”

In order to open up new revenue streams for X, the Tesla CEO is looking to capitalize on the platform’s substantial user base and the expanding trend of digital and in-app financial transactions.

Last year, X partnered with payment company Visa to help provide direct payment services to users of the social media app.

Since paying $44 billion to acquire X, then known as Twitter, in 2022, Musk has declared his intention to transform the platform into a “everything app,” with the goal of providing a wide range of functions like streaming, messaging, pictures, videos, and payments.
