Shina Peters Rejects Ashimolowo’s Comparison Narrative

The founder and Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre, Matthew Ashimolowo pointed out the difference in outcomes between Legendary Juju Musician Shina Peters and Zenith Bank Chairman, Jim Ovia, The pastor stated that both had access to the same resources ” Shina Peters, N20 million, built a house. Jim Ovia, N20 million, started a bank. One man is now fixing a leaky roof, broken toilets and doors that don’t shut anymore.

“And the other one, every country I go to in Africa, I see a branch. I was in Rwanda, Zenith everywhere. I was in Ghana, Zenith everywhere.

“So I am speaking into somebody’s life now. Delay your gratification, and God will lift you.”

In response, Peters in a statement on his Instagram story on Wednesday addressed the sermon directly, emphasising that, as a bishop himself, he prefers not to engage in verbal attacks against fellow men of God. Instead, he highlighted the importance of setting positive examples for the body of Christ.

“For the sake of the legacy of our Creator and Christ Jesus, as well as other esteemed great men of God, such as St Moses Orimolade Tunolase, and the likes, I will not be taking legal actions, nor will I speak ill against you, despite your false and derogatory statements,” Peters wrote

The musician also reflected on the blessings he has received over the decades, stressing that comparison with others is less important than using one’s resources to set good examples.
